Active Mining Claims
Closed Mining Claims
Serial Numbers for Active Mining Claims
Active Mining Claim Density by Quarter Section

This is a live feed of the BLM Mining Claims Map that is being streamed from the BLM's Geocommunicator Map Service.

Although this feed is live from the BLM database we are convinced, after discussions with the BLM, that these layers will not be updated and eventually these maps will be withdrawn. We are working with the BLM GIS department to bring you more current claims maps. We will notify those who have subscribed to our Newsletter when these maps become available.

Even when these maps were freely available at the Geocommunicator they were not up to date or accurate. The BLM only maps claims to the nearest Quarter Section - a 20 acre claim that overlays a section corner or center will show as a 640 acre claim on the BLM Claims map. Often claims on the map are not updated for 6 months or more.

These Claims Maps are a reasonable tool to locate areas of mining interest or to find the general location of an existing claim.  Once an area of interest has been found please do your due diligence research before prospecting or staking land. We have provided you with links to the lr2000 and the County Recorders offices to help your research. Ultimately you will need to finish your research on the ground. Mineral Claimants have 90 days before they must file their claims in the Recorder's office.
